He delivered the Mathias Oration at the TN&P ASI Conference 2013, Chennai, and contributed a chapter on Inter Sex Disorders to Dr. M.S. Ramakrishnan's Text of Paediatric Surgery. He served as President of the Indian Association of Paediatric Surgeons TN&P Chapter (2018–19).

His clinical leadership includes establishing M.R Hospitals in Thanjavur, supported by his wife,
Dr. Radhika. As a founder trustee of Jeeva Centenary Trust, he helped initiate oncology services in Thanjavur. Dr. Michael’s philanthropic work and involvement in the Association of Surgeons of India are highly regarded. He has organized live workshops at TN&P ASI Conferences in 2012 and 2018 at M.R. Hospitals, Thanjavur. In recognition of his service, the Indian Medical Association Thanjavur Branch awarded him the “Best Doctor Award.”
